Edit Loud! Edit Proud! -- Queering Wikipedia

Take a break from end-of-semester stress! And join us to discover all the ways you can make a difference by contributing to LGBT+ Wikimedia projects, including Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, and Wikidata. Make the move from reading about LGBT+ topics and people on Wikipedia to writing about our communities.

We aim to:

  • Make public knowledge more inclusive by filling in gaps and correcting bias
  • Give you a chance to contribute meaningfully to a global resource
  • Learn valuable digital literacy and research skills that can be applied in any field
  • Create a welcoming space for queer and allied students, staff, and faculty to connect, learn, and celebrate identity

This chill event will set you up to join the worldwide community that is ensuring LGBT+ people, issues, and more are covered in the world’s largest open encyclopedia, contribute images to Wikimedia Commons, and dive into Wikidata. Whether you're an experienced editor or brand new to the Wikimedia universe, we’ll provide the tools, guidance, and support you need to make a difference.
